Mooladhara Chakra

Mooladhara Chakra, also known as the root chakra, is an energy center located at the base of the spine in the human body according to yoga philosophy.

In yogic tradition, it is believed that each chakra represents different aspects of human consciousness and the root chakra is associated with the foundational aspects of our existence such as our sense of safety, security, and stability.

The term “mooladhara” translates to “root support” and this chakra is often described as the foundation or root of the entire chakra system. It is believed that when this chakra is balanced and activated, we experience a sense of groundedness, stability, and physical vitality.

Practicing yoga asanas (poses) that focus on the lower body and pelvic region, as well as specific pranayama (breathing) techniques, meditation, and chanting can be used to activate and balance the root chakra.
