Where & When

Yoga classes are held in Nantwich and Whitchurch, please visit the diary for exact details of when and where classes, workshops and retreats are taking place. However, the Nantwich classes are most weeks, and are drop in classes, and the Whitchurch classes are terms of 6 classes held about 5 times a year.

Preparing for a class

Follow the guidelines below will help you experience an enjoyable and successful yoga class;

  • Bring a yoga mat with you
    (important for stability in standing postures and cushions body parts such as knees)
    I have one matt’s left for sale, contact me in advance to reserve one to bring to class, just in case I get more people needing a mat than I have mats.
    I now have a couple of spare mats, available to borrow on a first come first served bases
  • Wear lose comfortable clothing
    (so clothing doesn’t restrict you and to enhance the relaxation and pranayama parts of class)
  • Bring an extra layer and/or light blanket
    (for relaxation at the end of the class, core temperature will drop)
  • Allow time between eating and the start of class
    (An hour for small/light meals or longer depending on the size of the meal)
  • Please bring any props with you that you may find useful
    (Such as straps, cushions, blankets etc, that you may have)
    You know the needs of your own bodies, please look after your self by bringing what you need.
  • Inform me about changes to your health
    (This is so that I can take your needs into account during class)

A typical class

A typical class might include the following;

  • Asana
    A mixture of postures focusing on different themes and taught with individuals needs in mind.
  • Pranayama
    Breathing practices, there are many although Ujjayi and Nadhi Shodana are two examples.
  • Yoga Nidra (Whitchurch classes)
    The relaxation, although yoga nidra is much more than a relaxation practice. I include space for the sankalpa (resolve), pairs of opposites and/or visualisation.
  • Relaxation (Nantwich classes)
  • Meditation (occasional or optional)
    Sometimes I offer an optional (at no cost) meditation at the end of class, or in place of paranayama depending on the class theme.
